Cindy Sheehan arrested

Civil disobedience at its finest. I don’t necessarily support the immediacy of the “Bring them home now!” movement, but I support responsible withdrawal.

Here’s what the AP says:

“Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has used her son’s death in Iraq to spur the anti-war movement, was arrested Monday while protesting outside the White House.

Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.

Sheehan, 48, was the first taken into custody. She stood up and was led to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, “The whole world is watching.”"

Today’s Times-Delphic, Drake’s student newspaper, had a decent editorial from the President of Drake Democrats, Pat Rynard, about the anti-war movement and its apparent lack of leadership (to some degree). If only the TD could get their act together and make their website work instead of just looking pretty, I would post a link.

The new TD website is horrible. I wonder when they are going to realize you can’t actually view any of the articles.
